More information:

Orthopedic walking boots widely use in place of traditional fiberglass casts for orthopedic injuries such as severe ankle sprains, stress fractures, complete foot and ankle fractures, chronic tendinopathy, early charco disease and post-surgical interventions.

Generally Orthopedic walking boot has designed for stability and support and focuses on optimizing the healing process.
Orthopedic walking boots provide advantages over traditional casts, such as easier to remove for exercise, edema treatment and Regular examination of the skin to prevent ulcers. Also this walker has rocker sole that aid propulsion and reduce plantar pressure of the foot.

The ROM walker, is a light-weight comfortable walking boot that can be set to allow a specific amount of ankle plantar flexion and dorsi flexion due to has ankle dial lock joint. Adjustable motion freedom in the sagittal plane of the ankle helps the person to walk more naturally.

The ROM Walker is the perfect device for limiting ankle motion after injuries or surgery. It can be used to regulate motion after Achilles tendon injuries, ankle fractures, and ankle sprains.

Indication:

  • Grade II/III ankle sprain.
  • Stable fracture of the fibula, talus, calcaneus and medial malleolus.
  • Post ligament, soft tissue and tendon surgery.
  • Chronic tendinopathy.
  • Neuropathic plantar ulcerations of the foot.
  • Early charco disease.

Features:

  • Lightweight and low-profile aluminum side struts. These Malleable uprights can be contoured to accommodate large dressings and swelling.
  • Dial lock hinges with adjustable range of motion limitation. Ankle range of motion is controlled from 45⁰ dorsi flexion and 45⁰, plantar flexion in 7.5⁰ increments.
    Dorsiflexion limitation at: 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°.
    Plantarflexion limitation at: 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°.
    Immobilization limitation at: 0°,7.5°, 15°, 22.5°, 30°, 37.5°, 45°.
  • Because Hinged boot walker allows some degree of sagittal plane motion at ankle, so it can promote gait and reduce energy cost walking.
  • Rocker sole helps propulsion and decrease greatest forefoot peak pressure. This pressure removal can help to heal the wounds of plantar neuropathy in diabetic patients.
  • Outsole design provides excellent shock absorption and Decreased heel-strike force on calcaneus. Also, it has anti-slip ability.
  • Simple to apply and adjust by circumferential straps.
  • inner foam with thickness and high quality that protect the limb from external pressures, is washable and easy to clean.

Instruction:

The boot walker elevates one limb relative to the other, creating a leg length discrepancy. In order to avoid the leg length discrepancy, the heel height of the shoe of the opposite leg should be the same as the heel height of the boot walker.
